“Walking Sticks” (phasmatodea) are truly fascinating creatures! Apparently they can grow up to 12" in length! This particular walking stick was approx 3-4" in length possibly longer including the antenna, which appear to be as long as the body. It is shown here on a piece of straw

    Looks great Laurie.

  • Thanks Steve! It was really fascinating to watch! But difficult to get a close up because it’s so long! ;)
I just posted another taken with a different camera, different view….When they’re absolutely still, they are so easy to miss due to their phenomenal camouflage

I love the composition, Laurie. This image needs to be just as minalmistic as the stick insect is and you did it! Sandy

  • Oh!! Thanks a million, Sandy!! The stick insect itself really is a minimalistic creation, isn’t it! Doesn’t have to worry about extra calories :))
