Peron Pool Avant Cards finally here!
Last year I sent a few images off to Avant Card and they selected my image Peron Pool to be printed up in 10,000 copies of free postcards for national distribution. Today I got my own personal copies (about 500 I think) delivered in the post. I hope to sell a few works through this process as the back of the cards have my website address www.lauretteruys.com and contact email.

This is a little bit of self-promotion. I entered my photo Ominous in a recent comp and I’ve made the top 10 finalists. It’s for WA week, Celebrate Western Australia.

My first sale :)
This morning I met a friend for coffee overlooking the sea on the foreshore and there was a beautiful dolphin fishing there, playing in the calm, clear water. It must have been a sign of a lucky day as this afternoon I have made my first sale of an extra large canvas print of my photo of Thokla Pass, Nepal (to an uknown buyer at this stage). Thank you so much to the person who bought my print. Th…

I love looking back over my images and recalling the feelings I had at that point in time, often right down to the exact moment I captured the photo. It’s this that inspires me.
Photography is the ability to show others a pa…
Featured Work
I’m excited to have my first pic featured as part of a group. Leepoint Dusk was featured in the group SEA. A special thank you to Tereza and Eduardo.
A little bit about this photo – it was taken with my old digital camera Canon IXUS 430 (4mp) so unfortunately I didn’t get the pic in a very high resolution. The sunsets in Darwin in the Northern Territory are simply amazing, espec…
