Peron Pool

Winter Solstice trip to Point Peron, WA

This is the rockiest section of coastline that Perth has to offer that I’ve found so far. Plenty of slippery rocks but the clearest rock pools I’ve seen with fish and crabs.

Wow this is sooooo amazing, i just love your comp, you’ve really shown this off so perfectly shooting it portrait style, I love all the detail in the foreground, on the rocks and in the pool, so many little things going on, like a little world. The sky looks so awesome too, i love the contrast in feeling between the sky and the foreground, just such brilliant photography Laurette, as always:)))

  • Laurette Ruys replied

Thanks so much Michael, really glad you like the comp, i was balancing on the edge of the sharp and slippery rocks to get this. so many things in that rockpool, there was a small school of fish but they hid for the shot ;8) it was such a calm night down there, calm before the storm that’s due to come tomorrow. thanks again Michael :)))

boy, I can’t get over how much this area looks like Vic’s Mornington Peninsula.
I just love sharp scattered rocks and rock pools, perfect subjects for seascape shots.
Great shot Laurette, really love the combination reflection off the water and being able to see through it.

  • Laurette Ruys replied

thanks Jared. I’d love to get to the Mornington Pen one day. The rocks here were tricky to walk on, esp with tripod & camera in tow. I loved this rock pool :)
