My Sea
near Sugarloaf Rock, Dunsborough.
Finally got down the beautiful WA coast, unfortunately bad timing with gale force winds, lots of sea spray coating my lens and filters and not able to take too many time lapse shots due to wind shudder on the tripod :( However, will be returning again soon.
This is the first in just a few shots I managed to get at this location considering the stormy weather and big seas. I’m thankful for my fingerless gloves coz it was freezin!

The bad weather shows this off to perfection because almost every shot I ever see (and take) of Sugarloaf – and there are scores of them in here – is in almost perfect weather. I love it. Bravo. Best wishes, Peter
Laurette Ruys replied
Thankyou Peter. I knew it woudl be cloudy/rainy when I went down there but I particularly wanted the clouds. I just didn’t predict such strong winds, but i’m still glad I went there and got this shot :)
Andrew Bosman
What an incredibly moody, brooding and atmospheric shot Laurette.
The weather may have been unkind but it has given you the opportunity to capture this wonderful image. Well done.
Laurette Ruys replied
Hey Boz. THere were a few specs of rain as I tried to balance my tripod in the wind and I’m glad I got this shot. Just makes me want to get back down south to take more :))

Very nice image Laurette. Well done.
Chintsala
Very nice. Did you sharpen? Looks a little soft
Laurette Ruys replied
Thanks Chintsala. No i didn’t sharpen this. I dont use sharpening. I think its definitely a bit blurry from quite a few factors, blurry filter, strong winds and therefore no cable release :)
Paul Pichugin
