The Incessant Flow

Laurette Ruys

The Incessant Flow

you know me
i am this pool brimming with emotive plenitude
i cant understand where this new world comes from
have I seen it before
have I seen you there by your shore

you walk across time across oceans across our worlds
sleeping is no difference to this suspended daze
as if in a dream
i think I’m slowly waking up
or maybe I’m falling back under
either way I feel a heart beat, the journey pending

in this incessant flow worlds meld
the breeze shifts direction and gently cools
she sat dreamy, thinking, by her mountain stream
she thought all the world was awash in emotion
the stars, the valley,
the rivers making their journey
to the sea

dreams filling inside her
she stood and gazed to the horizon
looking for your sun

my thoughts are yours
my time I give to your overflowing cup
your vision
resounding across meridians
let my lucid dreams awaken me inside your song
for it feels like home

Excellent Ret. Love how the stream starts deep in the image and then fans out. Gives the shot real depth.

You have written something that is so jaw dropping to me, it is something very special L, I love the last line so much and how perfectly the whole poem flows in this and from the others…gob smacked so much!!! 8-)))

i’m super stoked YOU like it Michael. Wow such a cool comment. I took a fair few shots to play with the effect of time on water. I learnt a thing or two this afternoon, and no dropped filters this time ;) kind of happy with what i came up with thanks to a bit of motivation!

WOW, and another big WOW!! Like the foreground very much. The rocks are filled with the most outstanding details. All rocks are glistening and forcing the water to go around them. The long exposure made the water silky and very interesting. The forest is amazing and filled with fresh green colors!! This must have been such a fantastic place to photograph, would love to take some pictures out there!! Excellent piece of work Laurette, had to favorite this superb shot of yours!!

  • Laurette Ruys replied

Hey Brendan, thankyou for your fabulous comment. It certainly was a fantastic place to photograph, one of the most memorable afternoons walking up through this rainforest creek and finding surprises around each corner. p.s. it was photographed on one of the tributaries to the Mulgrave River near Cairns :)
