The Source
now the time seeps energy back and forth
these days pass like liquid falling from the wax of a new moon
holding herself strong in that sky of yours
i hear the echoes of the world fading
i fall into the hum of dreams in my ears once more
were you fighting to find the source of the sea
were you wishing upon your star
before this night fades
fade into my today
with me
you sit with solace yet hold the answers true inside
the crumbled bits of paper
with words that made no sense
define my love, define this feeling once more
i want to know what it is to be free
i follow the aching moon
i follow the paths of elves
slipping on my ineptitude
if you’re fighting to find the source of the sea
i can hear it galloping up in these hills
the mist that falls on the sleeping world
inside this forest
finds itself a source of thought
if you’re wishing upon your star
before this night fades
fade into my today
with me

This is a shot from earlier in the year in a rainforest creek near Cairns. The area is called the Goldsborough Valley and if you think the rocks are shining a bit of gold, well they are. This was an area aptly named for the gold found in the rivers. At the time I was too busy learning time exposures on flowing water to be busy looking for stones with fissures of gold in them. Now I want to go back!
