Gosh, the detail on the bricks is amazing.
Regarding the piece of meat – has the carnivorous swan been at it again?
laurenrabbit replied
even the swan balks at this meat.

Reminds me of the story of the woman who killed her husband, cooked his bodily parts and served a nice roast meal to the police officers who were investigating his dissapearance – lovely irony.

Roald Dahl – Lamb to the Slaughter
Love that man.
Melanie Dooley
Ahhh – I was thinking Edgar Allen Poe – close but no cigar.
laurenrabbit replied
Ah, I read too quickly. In lamb to the slaughter she kills her husband with the leg of lamb frozen, cooks it and feeds it to the police as they’re in her house looking for the murder weapon.
Ironically it is leg of lamb in the picture. Probably.

Love the story by Roald Dahl and the image is great.
Laurenrabbit you have a way with visuals that tell an entire story. Great work.

Yes, that IS the story I was thinking of.
Frozen leg of lamb – my, how the story changes in my head some 25+ years after first reading it ;—)

Brilliant!!. like all your work!. I also used to have a chemical dark room with the enlarger, developer, water, fixer etc, but I could never go back to that now, even though I loved every minute of it.. With the digital darkroom “photoshop” I can now do things that I could only dream about before!. But I must say that your darkroom work is phenomenal, so god only knows what you could achieve in photoshop!!!. :-)

I am a traditionalist by nature, addicted to silver and I like to get my hands wet. I am well versed in photoshop-I try to make a point of not rejecting anything unless I am proficient with it- but darkroom is where it all began, it offers endless surprises and I am nothing if not faithful.

Amazing!! and i completely agree with your photoshop theory. Many aspects of photoshop can be acheived in the darkroom, it just takes more time, love, patience and persistence. aren’t those the elements that make up true photography anyways?
