best friends forever
The phrase BFF drives me mad, I seldom have a pathological hatred for letters. Usually I like them. From last year. 100% digital free of course.

ooooooh wow.. it took me forever to notice the ghostly man in the back.. LOVE the tones in this!
kaylarenee
or is that your sweet face back there? ;)
laurenrabbit replied
um, yeah, that’s me.

i think the thing i love the most about your work is the richness of the tones. of course, the concepts always blow me away, but i truly enjoy being thrown into the image by the processing.
i do have one question though, are some of your prints split-toned?
laurenrabbit replied
It goes a little past split toning- I use sepia, selenium and silver bleach and apply them with brushes avoiding some areas completely which retain the original tone of the paper, so I can pull 3-4 different tones out of a print if I find it appropriate.
laurenrabbit replied
forgot to mention- if you allow the movement of water to direct the toners it can get quite interesting and you can never make the same pattern twice.

Only a control freak tries to determine ‘forever’.
True friends need no reminding.
Some of my friends disappear for a year or so, and I never hear from them, and then I do.
In the end, your only best friend is yourself.

A little bit of ‘fixing’ for your BF?
Are they actually toe cutters?
Good emotional work as always.

BBF? I blame the Bratz. Slutty fuckers. Anyway, the image – great as usual. Oh, didn’t notice the woman behind the manequinn straight away. Love it.

haunting picture…..so many potential meanings. I luv that your work is digital free, perhaps cos may a year ago I started that way and putting you fingers in chemicals has the same hands on feeling as painting….. without a dark room for many a year, now I also appreciate digital for it’s accessibility.
