Beautiful. #d hack or regular Apo?

No matter how you did it I like how you have made the webbing stand up from the base. Would like to try something along these lines with sinedots and photoshop…...

    Excellent work Hon!

  • Lauren Zorn replied

Regular Apo, I’ve never really done too much with the 3D hack. I gave it a little punch by popping it in Photofiltre & giving it a little Softened Relief. It’s usually just enough to give it depth & dimension & make it stand out, without it being too much… you know ?

    And thank you !!!

  • zooreka

must check this photofiltre app out – is it a free-B????

Am playing with a tryout of Pixelmator for Mac at the moment am going to buy it as soon as I have the cash – A Wacom Intuos 3 is first priority though… At this point I simply gotta have one…. for painting.

I will say this though that pixelmator is pure Bitmap – no vectors…. Is very similar to Photoshop and even the commands are identical for most stuff…. but the filters in
there… . only amazing (and I don’t use 3d party filters much at all) some of the built in ones like kaleidoscope are great and its fun how they work some of them… The dialog trows these interactive strings onto the artwork and you move them around.

Asking price is $60 – mac only and My revies:

Best pure bitmapper I have ever seen for the price they are asking. Not by any means as powerful as photoshop but contains all the 2D functionality you will ever need with a bitmap program and simply mind-blowing filter options

  • Lauren Zorn replied

That pixelmator sounds just the ticket then ! As for Photofiltre, well I like it because A. it’s cheap… free, & B. it’s extremely easy to use. A big plus for me. ;-)

  • zooreka

    zooreka

I downloaded Photofiltre and I have to say for a freebie it looks good… but there is one very Major problem with it – no layers!! You’d wanna make sure you always work on a duplicate to avoid mucking up the original….

I believe there is a shareware version that does support layers….. Guess I’ll stick with Photoshp PSP and Pixelmator for now…. thanks for the tip tho!
