Lovely period style picture. If you could turn this into a sepia type, it would add so much atmosphere as well

Great photo.
Where is this place, is it a Museum?
Laurel replied
Thanks David! It is a place in Kentucky that reinacts the old days. It is called the homestead. There is also a place in Goodletsville Tennessee that reinacts this way, there is talk of closing it due to lack of funding.
TFFDavid
Thank you very much for this info Laurel, it is very interesting and definitely somewhere I would like to visit if ever I were to visit the USA. I hope they raise the funds needed to keep it open. :-)
amarica
Great work of art, destined to be a classic.
bouldercreek
Really nicely composed and shot.
Lensman2008
Oddly enough, and as much as I like the sepia shot, an artist of the day would have painted this using coloured oils, so the sepia version may appeal to photographic purists, but I think I prefer the subtle tones of this version.
It has an ‘old world’ feel about it that would fit right alongside ‘Whistler’s Mother’.

Further congratulations on making the’ home page. This, to me, means more about the history of the USA than any pic showing eagles, Uncle Sam or fireworks, in portraying the American Pioneering Spirit, so a hearty thanks for a stunning image. Well done!!!
