This amazing little fellow was rescued by us four years ago, end of a deserted country road, tail half blown off by fireworks. I called, he came running; tiny kitten, gangrene tail. Next day, tail amputation.

He makes up for the loss daily. “Hey, I’m Bolly, I have no tail, so pet me!” Here, he climbs, which is his very favorite activity. I got lucky with the sky.

This pic is “as is,” straight from the camera.

    • I seldom make comments on ‘cat’ photos (even though I love them and have one), but I cannot resist responding to the story attached to the photo Laura. There are two types of people in the world 1.) Ignorant pigs who would harm anything and 2.) people like us that save, honor and respect all that is around us :-). Hey Bolly – thank goodness Laura found you or maybe – just maybe – she was meant to find you. (now stop making me comment on damn cat pictures LOL).
  • Coming from such a giving man as you, especially, I am honored by this comment. Animal Rescue is how I justify my (often hedonistic and selfish) existence! Besides, what fine photographic subjects!!!!

Tail or no tail – he’s gorgeous!

  • THAK YOU, Leanna! He is a true character (disorder!!!) – climbing all over the house – above kitchen cabinets, leaping from our balcony to the top of ten foot tall bookcases! He was SO worth having saved!!!!

Thank you, Farras! Bolly basically rules the house, dominating even our Australian Shepherds, much to their chagrin!

Great shot Laura. Rescued cats are the best. I wouldn’t trade mine for anything. In fact the former girlfriend told everybody I traded her for the cat. I got a good deal.:)

  • From one who enjoys animals more than people, I can only acquiesce, Jay – good trade!!! (Cheaper to feed, too!)

I’m with Bradley, as a former adoptee of 3 different strays in various states of health, the destiny of such meetings is often uncanny, you can read a whole variety of unbelievable stories right here at RedBubble. The cats just know, and when you’ve been found by one, you change…

  • Syd – right on. The rescues ALWAYS seem perpetually grateful. My life in resuce makes life worth living. When I die, I shall be able to say, “THIS, I did right…” Thank you, likewise.

l cannot believe that someone would attach fireworks to his tail, how terrified this little fellow would have been, makes you want to get hold of the people that did it an set one off up their arse and give them a taste of what it must be like !! , thank goodness for you turning up, and this is a great capture , love those eyes !!

  • Truly, Trudi! I am enraged enough to believe those who neglect and abuse animals or children should be condemned to the exact same treatment as they have bestowed, I’d call it “a learning punishment.” Bolly has always been the sweetest cat. How ANYONE did this to him as a tiny kitten will baffled me for the rest of my life! THANK YOU!
