If I could,
I would dive right
into you.

I would transform myself
and kiss your shelf,
of dirt, and sand, and rock.

I would dive into your
inner core,
and feel the heat of your
love for me.

I would lock lips with
the earthworms.
I would swallow the grubs.
I would swim in your
…’till, I was done.

And, then,
I would fertilize you.
And, I would pop my head out,
as a beautiful flower……….
the sweetest, milkweed.

And, bees would nestle in my flowers.
And, Milkweed bugs, would flourish……..
……., and,
love me.

It has been a long and exhausting day.
I almost lost a friend, and my child said something disturbing to me.
I just felt like diving into the Earth, and, this is what I came up with.

A great poem Laura…and isn’t it an irony, that a wonderful piece of writing will come to you after an often ‘exhausting’ day?
    I wish you a more peaceful day, today :}
