I was spouting some sort of crazy business idea to my father over lunch one day and he rolled his eyes and asked the heavens, “how, how could I have helped create such a little capitalist?”
I objected and he interrupted me by proclaiming that if there was only one tree left, and one little bird left in that tree, I would find a way to chop down the tree and sell it and the bird.
And so I told him I was going to call my future exploiting company, “Last Little Bird Enterprises.”
He was just trying to infuriate me. It was one of his favourite games.
I miss you, Dad.
