what beauties !!!! this caught my eye right away. i thought they looked like friesians. i have saddlebreds and quarter and appaloosa horses.
Lars Klottrup replied
It’s two Friesian Geldings. They don’t belong to mee. I myself have a total of 19 horses, 3 danish warmblood jumping horses (2 after the famous french jumping-champion Quidam de Reveil) and 16 Friesians, including one Model-mare (one of only 3 in Denmark) – There is a lot of pictures here (if you can live with not being able to read the danish text! :) ) : www.123hjemmeside.dk/dansk-frieser-avl
Lars :)

thanks, i can deal with just looking at the photos : ) how lucky you are to have so many horses.
Lars Klottrup replied
Well, at times i feel lucky, at times i just feel poor (it costs a h… of a lot of money to keep them!)

Ahhh! Friesians are one of my favorite breeds of horses. They are absolutely beautiful and so powerful (which you’ve captured so well here). You should check out Nori Bucci’s portfolio. She has a graphite drawing she did of a Friesian that is spectacular. Very well done Lars.
Lars Klottrup replied
Thanks a lot – also for the info about Nori Bucci :-)

Lars Klottrup replied
Thank you! This and 3 others horse-photos are posted in Everything Draft Horse (Allthough a Friesian is actually not a cold-blood! – but does’nt matter!)
A lot more Friesians on my danish homepage: www.123hjemmeside.dk/dansk-frieser-avl
Lars :-)
skyhorse
I guess they get considered in with the heavy breeds due to their history as a carriage horse & for those wonderful feathered legs, though here in Australia we group them along with the warmbloods. This is an excellent B/W capture Lars, & I’ll be off to look at your homepage :-D
BTW, though I was “bad” owning 8 horses LOL
Lars Klottrup replied
The ancient history of the Friesian is actually as a riding horse for the better situated peasants. Later it became a carriage horse in competition with the heavier types. Today it’s again approaching the warmblood horses (dressage and driving – not jumping!)

Very beautiful piece of art. It would fit perfectly into the cowboy/cowgirl art, equine athletes and horse at work groups. We are also running a challenge in Horses at work and this piece would fit the profile

This fabulous pic would be a great addition to the Horses at work group :)) k
