View From Jungfraujoch
Jungfraujoch (el. 3471 m.) is a saddle between the Mönch and the Jungfrau in the Bernese Alps on the boundary between the cantons of Bern and Valais.
Termed ‘The top of Europe’ it is only accessible via a cog railway that has been built by tunnelling through the mountains. The highest railway station in Europe is situated here.

Thanks! It’s a great place – so different. I’d like to ski down the glacier sometime. Train ride (3 separate trains to get there) was wonderful. There is (was?) also an ‘ice sculpture’ display there with amazing things carved out of ice. No fridges required either . . .

Thanks Antanas. This was the ‘smooth’ area, so much around it was very rough fractured ice – impenetrable but equally pretty.
