Shrunken heads were a ritual done by warriors who would slay their opponents heads and shrink them. This ensured that by carrying their burden that they would carry also greater strength. This is a metaphor for life. Oil on board.

I wanted to understand what the images meant, in my perspective, so I tried to hush all the voices saying ‘what does that mean’. Then I realized it had the same thing happening as she sewed the mouth closed. Amazing metaphor in your work. There is nothing pretty about those thoughts that live in us. Outstanding creativity and imagery, especially with the flow of hair establishing the one- beautiful!
