A million Snowflake Angels fell softly upon the earth
covering our world in a white blanket of snow.
It was time for our loved ones’ departure from his place of birth;
The Snow Angels would guide him home.
Gently the Snow Angels fell from heaven above
bringing comfort and peace to our broken hearts.
The pain and suffering is over now for the one we love;
His soul free – our dear one departs.
There were Snowflake Angels everywhere;
Glistening on the ground, a carpet of love they displayed.
Sparkling like diamonds they covered the trees; wings glimmered in the air.
Everything pristine and pure for our loved ones’ journey today.
When our dear one was chosen to live in heaven above
the Snowflake Angels were sent in early morn;
To brighten his way and guide him on his journey above.
As his spirit rose in heavenly light – a new angel this day was born.
A million Snowflake Angels is our loved one now.
Tickling our noses, making us laugh;
Placing soft, wet kisses on our cheeks and brows;
Covering our heads in protecting snowflake hats.
In spring he’ll be among new flowers, trees and the birds above.
Summertime our Angel will warm us with loving sunshine.
Autumn he’ll show us all the bright colors of his love.
Wintertime our Snowflake Angel will bring shimmering love devine.
Our loved one will once again bring snowflakes all around.
Softly falling on our shoulders to whisper in our ears;
Gently showering us with his comforting love – he vowed
to always love and protect us for our remaining years.

SNOWFLAKE ANGEL

I would go visit my Uncle Paul while he was ill. And I would always be looking outside hoping it was snowing. I was born and raised in Wyoming and loved the snow; I miss the snow here in Oregon. On the morning Uncle Paul passed on – I looked out the window for peace and was pleasantly surprised to see that it had snowed! I couldn’t sleep till I wrote down a lot of the words to this poem that night.
