1911 Hart Parr 30-60 Tractor by

This tractor has been fully restored, and is in use for demonstration events at the Motherwell Homestead National Historic Site near Abernethy, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Modified in GIMP by adding a texture, then filtering with a sepia copy to try to simulate an older colour picture.

I remember my dad had mentioned the name Hart Parr so many times when I was a kid. Not sure his was this old though. What an old beauty and proud to still be in working condition. Well done

  • Thank you Vickie! I love old farm equipment, and this one is a beauty.
The one your dad spoke of could well have been a later model. The Hart-Parr company started building tractors in 1901, and kept at it until 1929, when they merged with three other companies to form the Oliver Farm Equipment Company.

As a matter of interest, Hart-Parr coined the term “tractor”. Charles Hart and Charles Parr have been called “the founders of the tractor industry”.

I think I might upload a few other treatments of the same photo.

    Thanks for commenting.

What a beauty! A wonderful old machine. So nice to see that it’s been restored so well and in good working order.

  • It is indeed! Thanks for the comment.

I am tempted to upload the original photo, to more clearly show it as it is today.
