Not by the hair on my chinny ,chin, chin said this bumblebee by

I didn’t realise just how hairy a bumblebee was until I got this close up with a fellow who was a little drunk on nectar…

Adore nature in all its myriad forms, a testament to the designer.. I never cease to be amazed at the wonder that surrounds us and am continually in awe as I see the photos that are display on this site of each persons views of this grand world we inhabit… I am a retired nurse and enjoying just being able to take time to smell the flowers so to speak..

Wonderful fun title lol..Nice capture u mean u were this close to this bumblebee lol you are brave hugs,Nice sharp clarity and detail nice focus and framing he would just have me buzzzing lol nice colour Well done hugs a fav.

  • Yep, I was this close, I have actually softly stroked them on the back , they are not as nasty as wasps or bees, but they do sting and because they are so big it feels like a big needle.. but it takes a bit to make them do that… I adore them…thanks for the lovely comments and hugs back …

Now that’s amazing! I can’t imagine even trying to stroke a bumblebee! Great photo, and I do love the title!

  • Thanks, I did it first because I was told they didn’t sting… got away with it many many times before I eventually got caught, but they feel so soft and furry.. worth the risk if ones not allergic to bees..Which I am not…. hence the bravedo

Now this is close Elaine, well done, I stroke them also, nuts aren’t we, but they are so cute, have you noticed how there are heaps of them this year and not many honey bees…. not a good sign. Excellent capture Elaine :o)x

  • Hi Josie, well they were pretty drunk on nectar at the end of the day,, best time to get close as they are soooo dozzzy.. actually we have heaps and heaps of the honey bees as well.. but John and Sandra have hosted hives on their place.. that helps…
