Soft Pastel on Fabriano Tiziano pastel paper.
Taken from a photograph of Nelson Mandela gazing out of his cell widow, cell number 46664, across Table Bay towards Cape Town and Table Mountain. I imagine him contemplating how he is going to bring peace and freedom to a land ravaged by the years of apartheid. To me he has the creative mind of an artist . The ability to think out of the box. Hence I named this piece " Thinking out the Box – Madiba".Madiba is a name most South Africans would call him , it is an African name meaning " Grandfather"
