Artist's Description

Mixed Analog Media: Water Color on Satin Paper, Natural Flowers Collage, Lace, Finished in Digital Art.

In 2009, I had a terrible accident… I was stuck in a bed and afterwards on a wheel chair. The pain of my back was unbelievable, the feeling of not being able to move by yourself, to be the same old you is really frustrating. So I began to have a huge heartache thanks to one of my biggest loss: My will to be free.

I believe that the greatest gift we all have in life is being free, having our free will to decide what’s best for our lives and to put to practice that decision…

And I saw myself one day, not being able to enjoy anything… (I spent a whole week without sleeping)… because I wasn’t actually free to enjoy them… being a slave of disease, meds, a bed, can really take you down… Imagine that you are a dancer who can’t dance… a swimmer who can’t swim… because your finite body is not as big as your spirit is… it is frustrating…

Wishing, thinking, desiring to be somewhere else and… being completely isolated from your close ones… It is (indeed) frustrating.

Until, you find out that you don’t need feet to run because you have wings that carry you over the sky finally finding your true freedom in love, without boundaries…

Also inspired by the song C’est la vie by Coralie Clément
