11″×15′’ prismacolor and derwent color pencils on watercolor paper

Still life of beautiful crisp juicy apples on a plate with blue stripes. Kind of reminded me of the Saturn and its rings.
As a reference photo I used a gorgeous capture A Taste of Autumn by Angie Davies with her permission.

    Fantastic detail.

  • Thank you, Rodney! I think the apples turned a little bit too bright, radioactive glowing cosmic apples :))).

Wow! I am impressed with the detail and realism you have achieved! The effect of light is amazing! I like your title and I see what you mean regarding the rings of Saturn! Fave!

  • Angie, I am so glad you like it! I had to simplify it just a little, but tried to stay as close to the photo color and lightwisewise as I can. I am happy with the result, and thank you again for your wonderful photo and for your permission to use it!
