In Tirupati, India many pilgrims donate their hair to the temple as a fundraiser. Most of the hair is sold to European wig-makers, some does manage to filter locally. This woman sells hair extensions outside the temple to the now bald pilgrims. :-)

We had a TV program on this not long ago- collected by Indian temples enmasse and ending up in US and Aussi hairpieces. Aparently Indian hair is the best. Great shot of something we don’t usually see.
