As an amature I find myself in a strange place here at RedBubble, surrounded by so many accomplished professionals. Fine artists in so many different media. I started photographing when I was a teenager with a 35 mm fixed lens film camera. Eventually progressing to a DSLR. During the 1980’s I did a lot of work with a medium format Bronica. Most of that was in black and white, and all my best work was developed in my own dark room. About 10 years ago I switched to digital cameras and never looked back.
Over the years, I’ve had a few gallery showings and have won a few awards. Occassionaly someone will purchase a photo, but I do not make any special effort to advertise or sell it.
I am fortunate enough to live in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, and I have always had work that required me to travel. As such I’ve been lucky enough to see most of Oregon as well as many other states. I love backpacking and outdoor activities, so a lot of my work has been nature and landscape oriented. I also do a lot of still lifes. It seems that as I get older, I become less and less fond of being cold and wet.
I really can’t say I prefer any one type of photography over another. Therefore my work covers all types of subject matter—except war. Will gladly skip that one.
Take care; Lee
