Sciples Mill
This old grain mill is still working. First established in the late 1700’s, it opperates today as it did then. This mill is in Central Mississippi and I got good course ground corn Mill and left the money in an honor box !!! No one was there, but the corn mill was stacked up and available to anyone coming in….you just take what you want, and leave the money….. Amazing….I’ve already used some of it, and as usual it was wonderful.
And getting more interested in the Mill, I found this bit of info on the history and running of the old mill….....

I like the aged look of this mill!!!! Hard to imagine that it has been operating since the 1700s, that is amazing!!!!! I would expect the corn mill was pretty good with all of that experience!!!!! These day though, you just don’t really hear of anything being on the honor system, that’s pretty awesome, great looking shot Ginger!!!!!

wow….how wonderful….... this is so REAL…..and sounds like the ethic behind it is too…... “Honor box” – we still see those on farm driveways where fruit or flowers are for sale here….. it is a beautiful statement on some of the more real facets of humanity…..

Great shot…and that southern corn meal is wonderful. I order some from Alabama all along so I can treat my kids to old fashioned corn bread. Don’t you just love the “honor box”..it restores your faith in mankind!
