This is a great image sweetie, These look so inviting! I doubt Steve Smith would be thinkng about kissing anyone if he took a bite of a green one but ripe ones are pure ambrosia!!
My grandma, yes the one who lived under the bridge, had a quince tree in her yard, which will put a persimmon to shame when it comes to pucker power!

  • Ginger Barritt replied

I’ve not heard of a quince….I’m going to investigate that!!! Your Grandma just gets more & more interesting!!!

MMMMMMMMM I love persimmons!!!!!!! In fact while I was in Maryland in September I found a few persimmon trees that were dropping fruit, oooohhhhhh I made myself sick a few days eating those things, but still could not get enough of them!!!!! This is a wonderful photo, and it makes me miss the east coast even more, we don’t have them out here. Awesome capture Ginger, very detailed, and very YUMMY looking!!!!!!

  • Ginger Barritt replied

Bless your heart!!! You need to get back over here!!!!

Quinces are very high in Pectin and were used by the oldtimers to make jelly, look much like a baseball sized green apple! Grandma sent me out to the tree to pick some for her when I was about ten, while I was doing that I thought I’d eat one, I loved green apples! Big mistake, I took a bit bite out of one and my mouth puckered up so bad I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to spit it out! Your photo reminded me that there is a very large persimmon tree along side the road near my house, might be a great place to spot a bear!
Grandma, now there is a woman that legends are made of, did I mention her team of oxen?

  • Ginger Barritt replied

    bwaaaaaahaaaaa…...OXEN???
