The Sun Dance is a religious ceremony practiced by Native American and First Nations people (primarily the Plains Nations). The ceremony had certain dances and songs which consisted of traditional drums, praying, fasting, tobacco offerings, the sacred pipe and some piercing of the skin for both genders.
