Lacey received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in painting from the University of South Dakota in 2008, the same spring that her son, Johnny Awesome Lee Weaver was born. She has worked as a professional artist exhibiting her work at art shows in the region as well as at Rug & Relic in Sioux Falls, SD. While acting as a freelance artist, Lacey has been commissioned for several private pieces including a five-piece medical series for Avera Weskota Memorial Medical Center in Wessington Springs.
In the fall 2009 Lacey enrolled in the teaching certification program at South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD. Lacey has been recognized for her unique style and contemporary work, being featured in Sioux Falls Woman Magazine and area newspaper stories. She currently has paintings on display at Gallery Go in Aberdeen, SD. Lacey Lee continues to paint professionally, exhibit her work and is currently employed with the Mitchell School District.
