Shelless Eg described her dream thus: “A maskumed ball, Beautrix as Death, Sad himself, and I played the Chandelier-descending-the-staircase-carved-of-mayonaise. Each downstep I could by Will extend forward, not flying, but gravity became less abrupt. The skiff in the parlor was missing an oar, which I found in the pantry, as a lamp illuminating B&S eating roe, with mayonaise left from the carving. I thought ‘this is a dreamhouse, I must be dreaming this’, then woke amidst my familiar darkness, the hole between yesterday and tommorrow commonly labeled midnight.” She sipped her rosepetal tea. “Would you like to hear about my paternal grandmother?” she giggled. “She thought she was the daughter of her own son.”

Surreal indeed. Clever and like a dream sequence. I particularly liked the last four lines. Made me smile. Strong visual imagery pours out of each line Lace. A lovely tribute to Jane.

Have you ever eaten a rose? At first, a translation of the scent to the palette, then as you chew a profound bitterness. If you hold on, upon swallowing a finish of the original rose essence, an aftertaste afterglow. Makes colorful additions to a greensalad. Haven’t yet tried a tea, but life’s adventure isn’t overbooked or cancelled. Love. L

I vote that charliethetramp write the foreword for your book, should you choose to someday compile your works. ‘Profoundly beautiful in their strange candor’ indeed! That’s exactly right!
