Through the backstreets of a Yorkshire mining Town
The backstreets of Grimethorpe,an old Yorkshire mining town, home of the famous brass band. I was contemplating taking this shot as i wandered back from my lunch, then the old lady walked in front of me and down the street, that made it for me.

Oh beautiful! I expect to see Billy Eliot dancing around! Lovely muted toning and I like the way my eye wanders up the street.

Hi Dave! you nailed this one for me, this is exactly as I remember the St where I lived while my dad worked down the coal mine, I felt as though I had just stepped back in time and nothing has changed since the day I left England. A wonderful capture, the old lady was the perfect addition.

Yep, the old lady clinched it. Fabulous gold tones and a terrific sky… love the glow on the brickwork at the right. I’ve seen a lot of HDR’s that are really over the top but this is HDR utilised to perfection.

Hi Dave, you did the right thing don’t miss a thing if you cane help it, reminds me of home a long time ago I’m from a mining village in Northumberland but ours was never as clean as this, I thing this would make a great mono image to bring out the grit and grim, not sure about the dreaded HDR
