Thanks Steve I cannot figure out what I did here It looks a bit weird. The water drip is from above I used my Canon 430ex Flash on camera Exif says 1/60th second which is a bit slow Flash fired F5and this was taken with my 90mm Macro yet it caught all this weird movement from below
I am confused about this

Figured it out used Rear Curtain hence the capture of the droplet and the movement Ummmmm! might do this again
This is so effective, I reckon this wold make a good record album cover (sorry CD cover , showing my age now)
Many Thanks Rob I am a little confused about how I achieved this I cannot quite figure it out. The water drip is from above I used my Canon 430ex Flash on camera Exif says 1/60th second which is a bit slow Flash fired F5 taken with my 90mm Macro yet it caught all this weird movement from below. The only thing I can think of is I had the flash set to rear curtain…….?
I need mor practise with my flash
I checked my settings and I used rear Curtain here that is why it looks odd hey sometimes my best images have been by accident
I have no idea how flash – but this looks really good. It’s different, colourful and has such a sense of motion speed that it has really worked for you :-) Love this
p.s I think it will be because of the 1/60 that you have the blur etc. 11/200 at least – hope that helps :-)
goodness, sorry that should read 1/200
Thanks Kymie I usually take them at about 1/320 this one just looks like it is coming out of the water and launcing into space
Just figured it out I accidently used rear Curtain on this anyway created a nice accidental effect
Many Thanks Gina
my friday 3 – 070510
Thankyou so much for this feature
Now I have to ask, what is rear curtain???
Kymie its when you set the flash so that it fires a pre flash on opening of the shutter and then fires again on closing. Great for long exposures in my case here it was only 1/60th but it fired twice
I could figure out why I had that motion trail and when I checked my flash setting thats what I had it set to
Thanks so much happened by accident
Congrats! This is one brilliant capture!
Thankyou for your lovely comment
