My first attempts at photography with my new camera whilst on my trip to Sydney last weekend. (July 2008) Not only did I have a great time meeting new friends and catching up with old ones, I got to play with my camera a Nikon DX40 in the most amazing city. So much to see and do and so little time. I aim to go back down to Sydney this year, and will be having at least a week there, by then I should have had lots of practice and be able to capture the sights as I would like. Till then enjoy.
This was taken at the Chinese Garden of friendship, which is such a beautiful place and very appropriate that I met up with my friends there. Next time though I would love a few hours to spend in here. So much to see.
Thank you so much Rob, as a beginner with the camera I am relying on my artist’s eye to capture what I think will look good…still reading the manual on how to fiddle, so for now I think it is best to point and shoot….any hints or tips gladly accepted….cheers
Love the flowing green over the water! You may have found a new medium for yourself Kym! ;-)
Thank you Dave, I felt this was good, and well love the idea of a new medium, a lot of learning to do with it though…and as much as I enjoy it, nothing beats getting your hands into the paint…this can be my hobby…lol hugs xoxox
Stephanie thank you, I loved it when I saw it, such a beautiful place to visit. cheers.

I love willow trees, there is just something about them that makes me smile and feel warm in the heart. This is so lovely, the light is beautiful, I love the composition. Glad to hear you had a great trip to Sydney, I’m sorry I could not make it to meet you. You’ll have to come on down to Melbourne hehe…

gorgeous especially in the black frame
Lucinda, thanks, yes I think the black framing brings out the colours, I don’t have photoshop, so this is straight from the camera. cheers
