Whale of a time.

This Baby Whale was having the time of it’s life on Tuesday morning, in the warm sheltered waters just out from Hervey Bay, QLD.
I took my mum and my two boys out Whale watching for the day on board the “Mikat” whale watching boat, in Hervey Bay, it was a great day, although a little rough, making a few children sea sick, my youngest Sam amongst them, he recovered enough to enjoy the cruise and be amazed by the whales and their antics, I missed the larger whales breaching, yet was lucky to see this young female displaying her abilities, it is an amazing sight and to be so close to the whales is wonderful, we saw several pods, and watched them for some time,
baby whales resting on their mothers heads, these mammals are so huge yet so graceful, it is something we will never forget…..
The Mikat provided us with a great lunch, and a comfortable cruise, friendly staff, and I would recommend this trip to anyone heading up that way.

    Thanks Robert, this is how it was, I don’t have photo shop or the such, so I just do the best I can whilst still on my “L” plates with the camera…It was amazing out there, need to do another trip without the family…lol good to see you, take care cheers

    superb …. I am heading up to QLD in a week and I have planned to go on a whale tour too – can’t wait. I hope I get to see something so great as this, and I hope to capture it as at least half as well as you.

    Great photo Kym. I work on one of the whale watching boats in Hervey Bay. ( Not Mikat but thats ok ). Glad you enjoyed the experience. No better place to see them. Great capture.
