Photography enables me to bring some of my favourite experiences into a classroom of eager young minds as a means of inspiring, educating or merely stimulating empathetic thoughts and ideas. On a more personal level I can share my travels and adventures with those unable to take in the ambience first hand. The subject of much of my work is Flora, Fauna and Everyday Living around the World. Within my shots I am passionate about using sunlight and water, as a liquid, gas or solid, to emphasise the beauty of a scene, in addition to creating the original emotion evoked from the location. I love to use reflections to highlight the images from natures own perspective and a macro lens to focus on the finer detail that can easily be overlooked if one doesn’t stop to take a closer look.
Predominantly though, my passion lies with wildlife encounters and with the observation of fauna in it’s natural habitat, or fresh snow or mist upon the artistery of renaissance or baroque architecture. More often than not, the natural world is right in front of me waiting to be composed, and I just happen to wander there, hence the rationale behind conjuring up further adventures that will lead me to a breathtaking shot with everlasting memories!

‘CITY SQUARE’ was recently captured for the ‘Shutter Up You Face’ photographic competition on Flickr. This photo was chosen to be part of a photographic display at The Melbourne Museum from Sept 18 until the end of ‘The day in Pompeii’ exhibition on October 25. This is the first time I have had any of my photos exhibited outside the classroom, so I am very excited.
