Smoke on the Water by kurrawinya

Smokey… he’s a self-confessed water rat, and as if being saturated from the 13inches of rain we’ve had since Friday isn’t enough – he has to go plodding around in the water that’s running through our gully (don’t worry, he won’t get washed away in it)
It gives a bit of an idea of the sort of weather we’ve had in the last few days! We are very lucky here to be up in the hills so water isn’t a problem for us, although it’s quite speccy down in the gully where the dam is overflowing.

Nice work Penny :)..Hope you are staying high & dry – this weather is horrendous !

  • Thanks Gail – considering the fact I had my camera in a series of “glad bags” and couldn’t see what I was photographing I’m pretty happy with it lol!! We’re lucky here as our property is essentially a couple of hills and we haven’t had too much water flow through the gully/dam but our district is isolated from the outside world though!

stay safe my friend, hope you don’t get flooded out.

  • Thanks Wayne, we’re not too worried about being flooded out as we’re on high ground – we are flooded in though lol, our district is isolated by roaring rivers and washed out roads.

Beautiful Work, it looks so sad,
    .

  • Thank you Ann, actually, he couldn’t be happier, it was hammering down with rain and he was still down at the dam paddling and spashing around! 99% of their paddock was dry as chips, he just loves water!

    Beautiful image Penny!!! Stay safe!

  • Thank you Kent :) We have been very lucky here, we only get sheeting run off, no really deep flooding like a lot of QLD has suffered.
