aka Blackford Jaspeado, An andalusian x anglo arab who was my very best friend for many years, he was my mum’s faithful companion for about 20 years and I learned a lot of what I know with him, he was a one of a kind that old feller…

He passed away at a very ripe old age a few years ago – I took this photo of him a couple of years before that, I think I was about 16 or so, he was well into his 20’s by then, about 25 or 26 I think…

Adventures of a creative, curious country chick, with a few horses, lazy dog and insane cat in tow! Living the dream in rural Australia, my photos focus on the outback, horses, and the rural way of life… oh and a few pretty flowers along the way!

WOW!! This brings back childhood memories, way before your time of a horse called, ‘Mr Ed’…Mr Ed had a blaze though..

  • haha, Mr Ed might have been before my time, but I still watched plenty of re-runs when I was a kid! Thanks Pete =)

that’s a beautiful shot Penny. I have my ‘best friend’ with me still. He’s now 30 years young! I will be so upset when he’s gone – you get so close to them – we’ve been mates for 26 years now. Happy to say he’s still doing well, with a little TLC. It’s a bit like a retirement village here now, have two others – one 20 and the other 16, but happy to be doing it. Have a wonderful new year. Bron ☺

  • Thank Bron, great to hear about your golden oldies! they do become very special after all that time, Mum had sam since he was 4, and he was near on 30 when he fiannly passed, they were very close. and thanks chickadee, you have a great new year too =)

Sam reminds me of a gray arabian (dream) who my cousin owns. He is very tall and has a red stain on his shwhich is a very precious kind of Arabian, comes from a long line in Arabia. What awonderful looking horse! Such beautiful eyes and demeaner.
