Booborowie, situated in the mid-north of south australia.

Well… the weather man got it right for once! It acutally did rain and we actually did get some storm cells!

So out I went in the gale winds (admittedly in a vehicle so as not to get wet), with the dear Pentax, to get some photos of the thunder clouds out to the west (that’s the neighbors shearing shed right there) and I see lightning, and I think to myself.. I want one of those! so, on with the action setting, hoping like crazy I didn’t get struck.. the clouds nicked off pretty quick, I followed them, nearly got bogged, and got no more photos, but hey! I got this one anyways!

Taken with my trusty 12mp DSLR Pentax k-x, the little underdog of cameras =)

Adventures of a creative, curious country chick, with a few horses, lazy dog and insane cat in tow! Living the dream in rural Australia, my photos focus on the outback, horses, and the rural way of life… oh and a few pretty flowers along the way!

Fabulous!!! Its a good thing you stayed safe! I have yet to get lightning pictures…. ive tried but i either moved or i didnt place the camera correctly…

  • Cheers, thanks! lol, I’ve had two close shaves with lightning in the past, and a lady was stuck in our state’s capital yesterday so I’m just a little bit windy on it at the moment lol… yeap, lighting is so frustrating to photograph hey, That’s why I neve actually intended to get a photo of it yesterday, it’s just too torturous and we never have the right condutions here (always too darn windy lol) but somehow I managed to fluke this =)

Well worth the effort. Fantastic capture, I love all the colors you have captured here….

  • Cheers, thanks so much Rebecca! It was the colours that drew me out there in the first place, then the lightning started!
