Gondolas line the bustling Riva Degli Schiavoni, the most popular promenade in Venice, waiting for some tourists to take them out and give them a chance to relive the glory of the yesteryears. More and more tourists favor the inexpensive vaporettes to the pricey gondolas, leaving more and more gondolas moored to the shore – except for an occasional romanticized gondola ride.

Masterpiece….Awesome how the boats are tilt and how you capture so many in line like this. Also I appreciate the B/W tone. Still, curious about what the color looked like..Or did you shoot it as BW?

Lovely image, what a shame they are less popular these days. I was amused when I was in Venice to spot a ‘Coca Cola’ gondola… but on reflection, of course, they have to deliver with something, eh? Next time, I will definitely take a gondola ride and do my bit to keep them around. BronReid
