Gondolas line the bustling Riva Degli Schiavoni, the most popular promenade in Venice, waiting for some tourists to take them out and give them a chance to relive the glory of the yesteryears. More and more tourists favor the inexpensive vaporettes to the pricey gondolas, leaving more and more gondolas moored to the shore – except for an occasional romanticized gondola ride.
