Aare Panorama from Nydeggbrücke 2
Panoramic view, from Nydeggbrücke bridge, of the river Aare which seperates the eastern and western halves of the city of Berne, Switzerland, overlooking the older Untertorbrücke bridge.
Wikipedia entry for this explains why this is an European landmark because “Built in its current form in 1461–89, it is the oldest of Berne’s Aar bridges, and was the city’s only bridge up until the middle of the 19th century.”

Lovely shot! I went to Basel and Luzern and Zurich, didn’t make it to Bern, and apparently it’s not to be missed! Oh well, next time!
