The lighting really does make this shot. Wood does get its chance to shine when the right quality of sunlight is on it at the right angles and the energised browns light the water and are even powerful enough to colour the earth/mud – it is a time of day worth striving for, and you’ve put the effort in here. The composition works – I find myself thinking that if you’d cropped tighter in to the tree then it might have been too powerful. I think you’ve got a great balance here.
