On the first morning on holiday in Poolewe, I rose before dawn in the hope of capturing a sunrise image. I made my way to Tournaig, a few miles up the road . I had an image in my mind’s eye but I needed to find some crucial foreground interest. After a long time squelching through bog and battling midges, I found a suitably interesting rock to fill the foreground. By this time time the sun had emerged above the horizon and the moorland was bathed in soft golden light.

Photography has been one of my greatest passions in life since a young age. I shoot in the RAW file format and process my photographs using Nikon Capture NX2. My objective is for my photographs to be true to life, and I only use filters and post-production technology to do justice to what is already there.
