Her toes tapped a tune on the floor. The sounds of guitar strings and a bass plucking kicked her into action. She twirled and clapped her hands; air whipped her raw cheeks. Rhythm stroked her skin with sensual touches. She danced with fluid movements, succumbing to the music.

She spun in circles, kicked up a step and raised her arms to the glory of the night. Her cotton skirt billowed wildly about her ankles as the music crescendo. Feverish passion of the moment burned in her eyes; her heart was ablaze with energy.

High trills uplifted her mind. “I’m alive!” She sung the words, raised her arms higher and threw off her restrictions; relishing the music’s challenging beat. It pulled her into a fierce two step and a death defying leap. She landed on a roll and came back with a quick step and high heel stab to the floor. Thunder and lightening pulled her into a spin.

“Share your dreams,” the wind whispered around her. “Speak your emotions. Embrace the colours of life. Listen and feel the rhythm, it will take you where you want to go.”

She closed her eyes and fell into a drum roll. Trust now and let go.

Clapping brought her back to the moment. Her eyes opened to light, orange fire and the invigorating rush of voices. “I am now!” She sung and danced for everything she valued.

Stars wheeled above her. Her body slowed with rhythm. She felt the drum beats ease into silence and the morning air cool her skin. The music is life, it will continue to play and change. The thought soothed her mind. She knew she would always embrace it.

“Just for good measure,” she whispered, “one last turn.”

She twirled to the ending guitar trills and slowly came to rest.
