I’m ashamed to say I didn’t really twig what these guys were up to when I took to pic. I believe half of these may be male King Penguins (aptenodytes patagonicus) incubating eggs while their missus’s are at sea having a Girls Night Out! They’ll then swap over after a few days while the females incubate and the boys go on the razz!
If you look closely you’ll see fledgling Penguins too. because fledging takes up to 16 months so there will often be chicks at different stages of development within the same colony.
