Red Moon
Probably one of my favourite places in the world!
This is the aptly named “Valley of the Moon” (Valle de la Luna) in the Atacama Desert in northern Chile. In the distance, the peak of the Volcano Licancabur seems to float above the horizon. It is just before sunset when the rocks take on a golden glow. The moment is short lived as the tropical dusk descends quickly. The white stuff is salt and the lack of humiidity makes the Valley of the Moon devoid of life. This is the most inhospitable place on the planet.
