How extraordinarily beautiful can one little creature be? Good thing he’s not human; he’d be incorrigibly vain! This portrait of him is PERFECT, Krys, and could land him on the cover of National Geographic! I especially love the background which showcases his perky vibrant self!
Krys Bailey replied
Thanks Bonnie!!! God definitely got out the colour palette when He created these guys! ;o)
Troy W. Smith

You don’t need a BIG digi at Birdworld necessarily, Dawn!!! Most of my shots were with the shorter focal length lens!! At least you could shoot the birds with a tranquiliser, O great Archer!!! ;o)))

Elaine van Dyk
Great shot, Krys. These combinations of colours never cease to amaze me. They really are exquisite birds. However, I must say I’m happier seeing them flying around and speaking their “Lorikeet talk” in the flowering trees around the golf course where I play, than seeing them in zoos. But then again, I guess zoos (or Birdworlds) offer other people the opportunity to see and learn about them – as long as the birds have plenty of space to fly around in! Some Birdworlds are absolutely fantastic.
Krys Bailey replied
Thanks Elaine – I totally agree with your sentiments but as you say, if we didn’t have zoos or birdworlds then we in the UK would never see these wonderful guys. I’d seen photos of them and was keen to see one in the feathers, as it were. If its any consolation, I offer my photos free to my local zoo, should they want them, in an attempt to contribute something to the knowledge. Don’t you keep our European wild critters in your zoos??? ;o)

‘color’ is spelled incorrect
Krys Bailey replied
Hahaha!!! Thanks for the spelling lesson Jared, but COLOUR is spelt the correct way for those of us who speak proper English! ‘o)))
