Speak to the Beak

Speak to the Beak

This handsome little dinosaur is a Trumpeter Hornbill (bycanistes bucinator). I think it’s a female as its horn is small by Hornbill beauty standards! I’ve just read on Wikipedia that these make good pets – oh, gimme gimme gimme!!! ;o)

p.s. Makes me wonder what the chicks look like!!!

Very sharp, great image! Pet? How big would you estimate he is?

  • Krys Bailey replied

Thanks Cheri!!! He’s probably nearly twice the size of a standard parrot!!! He’d have to live free outdoors like a Toucan I met in Peru! ;o)

  • Krys Bailey replied

Oh Kimmie, I’d love to become a bird’s pet (like you are). I am really building up a love of birds getting round and meeting all these guys!!! I’m still heartbroken having to leave Senor Tuco in Peru – it was love at first sight when he flew into my eye!!!! ;o)))

Wonderful photo Krys with great color and clarity. His beak looks like a rough stone sculpture that needs a little polishing, but I don’t think I’ll mention this if I ever meet one beak to beak :)

  • Krys Bailey replied

Thanks Richard – from what I read, these guys are affectionate, so you can insult her beak all you like! ;o)))

  • Krys Bailey replied

Thank you Bonnie! I am the amateur here but in the last couple of years have learned so much about mammals and birds as I’ve been snapping them! I have to learn what they are called, common name and latin, if I am to post them up for sale! Thank goodness for Wikipedia!!! ;o)
