AngelaFoster
an absolutely stunning capture , and really cute as well
Alison Cornfor...
great capture! Those eyes are looking right at you :)
Ed Moore
Wow, Krys…You Marmots get around. This is a nice shot of your cousin, and a fascinating colo(u)r to boot! How you can continually take such great shots with those sharp claws of yours holding the camera and taking the photo is a mystery, but you sure have an eye for a great picture. Keep up the good work, and if you ever get to the states, we will feed you a bag of peanuts (unsalted). Mmmmk? lol. Nice work as usual, Krys!
Krys Bailey replied
Thanks Ed! Ah, I have to keep my powerful claws clipped short! Being an Alpine Marmot, make sure they are Pine Nuts! ;o)
Bonnie T. Barry
Krys, this is a beauty of a baby! Love those sparkly eyes, that auburn fuzz, and those elongated toes! You did him justice; totally enchanting portrait!
Krys Bailey replied
Thanks Bonnie! I hope to go back in the winter time when they have cute fluffy tufts on their ears! ;o)
Mary Broome
How adorable!!! This is a lovely shot Krys and such beautiful big shiny eyes :)
Roslyn Lunetta
:) baby fuzz and all, and like a puppy, paws bigger then the current body, and the contrast of the stick really brings out the color of the fur, really great shot Krys.
Dawne Olson
What a gorgeous fur color! His pose is just adorable! Nice capture!
DiEtte Henderson
What a wonderful image, nice work!
micmac
Superb capture,he’s so cute.
Kimberly Palmer
Look at those long toes! What a cutie of a shot Krys….

Wow, your picture of the red squirrel is on the same level as that of Andy Rousse,.
Well Done! where did you spot the little chappy, as they have become in the msot part of the UK, except in some parts of Scotland or the Isle of Wight
Krys Bailey replied
Thanks CJ! I cheated! This was shot at the British Wildlife Centre in Surrey. They have photographers days there but they aren’t worth doing! I just hustled in with the crowd, beating off kids and their parents with my long lens! :o) The only drawback is the squirrel enclosures are heavily wired and in deep shade.
Jay Ryser
Great detail & color. Tell ya what – send me some of these guys and I’ll ship a box of pikas to you.
Krys Bailey replied
That sounds like a great deal Jay! Can I ship back some of your Grey Squirrels as well? (only kidding – I love ‘em too!)
AnaCBStudio
Beautiful work Krys…great dof…he is so cute!...
digitalmidge
Aw, I love this, Krys, awesome…he’s got huge feet like a puppy…hehe..;-)
Krys Bailey replied
Thanks, Zoe! Yes they have enormous feet and hands, don’t they? I expect it helps when hopping around in the trees!
Lucindawind
aww too cute!!
Richard Veal
Great capture Krys. I like the way its posing for you.
I missed the chance to go to Brownsea Island, Poole, last year. I must go sometime. There are a lot on there.
Krys Bailey replied
Thanks RIchard! Yeah I know Brownsea and the IOW have lots of these cuties, but this was shot at the British Wildlife Centre in Surrey, so this is a good alternative!
funkyfacestudio
What a perfect little fluffy squirrel, great shot !
itsallgoodamanda
Aww ! what a sweetie
Jay Ryser
Keep the grays – they’re the minions of evil on this earth.
Krys Bailey replied
But I feed the grey squirrels, Jay! They are cute too! Dang noisy mind you! Always muttering their displeasure from the trees or trying to intimidate my bunnies when they’re outside in their garden run.
Stephie Butler
Absolute cracker of a shot…..
Al Bourassa
VERY red!
Keeli
He is so adorable! This is a magnificent photograph!
C J Hummel - ...
Krys – Wow then that shot is even better, because you can see even a trace of the wire. Even with a long lens, there is often a slight haze in the image, but now with yours.
Well Done.
Krys Bailey replied
Thanks CJ – I have found that the right length lens loses the wires completely! ;o)
C J Hummel - ...
lol – at the grey squirrel antics! I have a grey squirrel family outside the house and I feed them too. Also found that one of the local foxes sometimes eat the peanuts too. Sadly he died recently, he was poorly and also had the mange.
Richard G Witham
Great photo! I love the pose, or the poise rather ;)
Jen Whyte

Excellent Capture!!!!!
Anni Morris
YAY! A red one! I love the greys too…but this is so appealing. Great shot. I wonder if it was in your garden? ~ Anni :)
Krys Bailey replied
Thanks Anni! Unfortunately these guys are so rare that we only have greys in our garden (I love them too!) Reds are almost extinct on the British mainland and can only be found on islands and very rarely in wildlife centres such as this one.
Jacky Parker
Wow that is the best red squirrel image I have ever seen – love it! I have hunted high and low over great britain to photograph these guys without success and cant believe the centre is just an hour away from me, well thats my weekend planned!! thank you for sharing such a beautiful image!
Krys Bailey replied
Thank you so much Jacky! Well there you go – actually, I’m planning to go back to the centre this Saturday – I’ve booked the caravan site so I can drag along my poor long-suffering hubby! Perhaps I’ll see you there! Look out for an old red-haired tart with a couple of Canons hanging round her neck! ;o)
Roslyn Lunetta
hey lady, I better be the cover of the squirrel calendar!
Krys Bailey replied
The image is too small unfortunately!!! :o(
AnitaInverarity
You have an amazing eye for a capture Krys- LOVE THIS x
Krys Bailey replied
Thanks, Anita! I was just thrilled to see these RED squirrels as opposed to the greys for a change! ;o)
AnitaInverarity
I know so rare- we have a lot of grays beside us but my partner has seen a couple of red ones whilst cycling further into the countryside xx
lorilee
Oh so cute! A sweet photo!
Sandy Stewart
Lovely capture of the baby Red Squirrel! Beautiful catch light in its eyes, give it a life like feel, as if it could scurry right out of the photo! :)
