I LOVE polecats – weasels and ferrets and such. Lovely shot. Another reason my little pikas shouldn’t be over there . . .
Krys Bailey replied
Thanks Jay! I suppose you mean that the weasel family are not nice to critters like Pikas! I would protect Larry if he wants to emigrate over here and live with my tiny mice! Honest! ;o)

glorious capture of this glorious animal, such a beautiful portrait., lovely anmials. hugsxxx ( a lot of people in England keep ferrets, which are of the Polecat family)

Where did you learn that expression? We used to call skunks. ‘polecats.” Again, you have a beauitiful portait of a fascinating animal.Bravo!!!
Krys Bailey replied
Our polecats are not related to the skunk (which we don’t have over here) as far as I know! Both animals are awful pretty though – thanks, Lori! ;o)
Ed Moore
Hey Krys…nice shot…beautiful animal!

Aw, it’s cute, is it related to the Possum? We have something like this over here in America. They are actually very friendly and sweet if tamed from a young age of course..;-)
Krys Bailey replied
Don’t know if it is related to the possum but it is related to the Ferret which make popular pets over here in Merrie Olde England!

Who wouldn’t love that little face and that pleading look in the eye? Such an endearing profile! Polecats over here are skunks; I don’t know if we’d be safe enough to get a shot of it before it shot us!
Krys Bailey replied
Thanks Bonnie, but this isn’t a skunk! We don’t have skunks in the UK or even the European continent, as far as I know! They do have the sweetest faces though! ;o)

At first I thought that was the face of an otter.
Krys Bailey replied
Polecats are the same sort of shape as an otter, but they belong to the weasel family (which includes Badgers).
