Taz

Not to be outdone by some of the beautiful animals who have had their photos posted here on RB by their pets (yes you did read that correctly), allow me to introduce the funniest bunny on the planet – Taz. Taz is my five year old, supposed-to-be-a-Lionhead, but he didn’t quite work out properly. People often ask what the heck he is, and who can blame them, but he is the smartest and most loving housebunny anyone could wish for. His fur grows rapidly and continuously so I have to give him a “hare-cut” every few weeks so he can actually see his beautiful girlfriend bunny, Savanna. Taz’s hobbies are imitating a Tribble, mugging me for all the treats he can get and caravanning. Yes indeed, when we go away with the caravan for weekends in Merrie Olde England, the bunnies come too – they have their own bun-run which we place on the grass so they can get a taste of the local bunny fare! N.B. The wild bunnies, which are commonly found on such campsites, tend to treat them with disdain! I can’t imagine why! ;o)

Savanna, the girlfriend.

Taz is such a poser in this photo…. loved your description Krys. He sure is a cutie, and I know how much you spoil and love him…. lucky bunny.

  • Krys Bailey replied

Thanks Kimmie! Isn’t he just…. er…. fluffy???? ;o) We had a crisis today – I ran out of Lofty’s – their favourite treat! I went out and bought 4 new boxes of them…........ peace reigns….......

Very cute, and great light and detail.

  • Kimberly Palmer

    Kimberly Palmer

    Very fluffy….. almost due for a hare-cut. =)

  • Krys Bailey replied

Actually, yes, you’re right. I just need Nick to be available to put Taz in a half-nelson and then I can get the scissors out! Actually, he’s very good – Taz that is, not Nick, no definitely not Nick…....... hope he doesn’t read this – Nick I mean, not Taz. Not that Taz doesn’t read … he IS very intelligent…..probably can spell better than Nick…..... OK, ramble over…........................................ :o)

Taz is adorable Krys; I have not seen another like him….......I am sure his disposition matches his wonderful appearance….awesome image…and I love your description…I am delighted that you take the bunnies with!!!

  • Krys Bailey replied

Thanks Joyce! It is such fun to take the bunnies camping! They attract a lot of interest. One person commented about Taz that they didn’t normally like animals, but they liked him! I think that was a compliment! ;o)

He is about the cutest thing I have ever seen!! He looks like he has a great personality. I used to have 2 dwarf lops. Bunnies make the best pets. They would play with my cats. It was hilarious to watch. I love Taz’ color also. Great shot!!

  • Krys Bailey replied

Thank you, dear bunny-lover! I had lops before Taz but they didn’t survive for more than a couple of years, and it broke my heart. You are right they make the best pets! We used to have a cat too and she adopted Taz as one of her own! I held Taz first of all when he was 3 weeks old – fitted into the palm of my hand. Had to have him! ;o)

Krys, Taz stole my heart with one sideways glance! Who couldn’t love such an adorable little mite? Thanks a million for introducing us to this fluffy wonder and sure would like to meet Savanna, too! (Did you know I’m “Bunny” too? A foreign exchange teacher who was one of my colleagues couldn’t pronounce Bonnie quite right. So “Bunny” I was.)

  • Krys Bailey replied

Ha! Love it! Bonnie – Bunny! I have posted Savanna as a Devil Bunny Tee, but she really needs more credit than that! When Taz and Savanna are together, they are cute, but not as photogenic as apart – I’m sure you know what I mean! ;o)

beautiful , a real gorgeous little rabbit i didnt realize that some bunnies hair had to be cut, i thought they all just moulted a few times a year, my bunnies seem to moult continuously.

  • Krys Bailey replied

Thanks, Angela. Taz IS pretty rare, I think – probably he has reverted somehwat to his Angora ancestry, but having said that, he is not like an Angora in that you cannot pluck his fur out – it has to be cut with scissors and it grows over his face, unlike Angoras. If you’re familiar with the Star Trek tribbles, then that describes him uncut! ;o)

  • Roslyn Lunetta

    Roslyn Lunetta

haahaa very sweet, he is a poser! as for the local wild bunnies, they are just so very jelous for they want treats and love and hare cuts for their life is all about trying not to get shot in Mr McGreggors Garden….. :D

Hahaha! Thank you – that IS a compliment to Taz.

  • Alison Cornford-Matheson

    Alison Cornfor...

OMG! He is sooo adorable. Is he as cuddly as he looks?

  • Krys Bailey replied

Thanks, Alison! He is pretty cuddly – he doesn’t like being picked up much, but he is happy to be cuddled down at his level and he licks me which is the equivalent of a kiss! That fur is incredibly soft.

  • Alison Cornford-Matheson

    Alison Cornfor...

Awww, I’d love to have a bunny again. I had a lop and some um… bunny equivilents to mutts as a child :) I think four cats in a loft is enough for now though :)

What a beautiful image of this lovely animal!

  • Cheryl Ridge

    Cheryl Ridge

What a cutie! Love the hairdo! Is it similar to angora fur?

  • Krys Bailey replied

Thanks Cheryl! The fur is soft, like Angora, I suppose, but I think you can pluck Angora fur out and with Taz you can’t (unless you want him to bite you! :o) The fur has to be cut, with scissors, as it is dust fine!

  • Krys Bailey replied

Thank you Lorilee! He was looking depressed today, with all his fur, so we gave him a hare-cut and now I hope he won’t need the Prozac! ;o)))

    Gavin Maginness

What a beautiful creature, you are so lucky to have him

    Squealia

What a gorgeous bunny, fab “hare-do” looks like you have crimped it. Sounds like he is the most pampered bunny in the world! You should add him to this new group HERE

  • Krys Bailey replied

Thank you for your kind comment! I’m not sure Taz thinks having a hare-cut is pampering, more of a chore which he endures very well. However I think he likes the end result (he can see where he’s going and see his girlfriend Savanna). :o)

  • Jellybean720

    Jellybean720

I want one just like him.. he is the most adorable bunny I have ever seen.. who wouldn’t want to have him as a furchild.. Any baby bunnys?? So cute .. Great Capture :))

  • Krys Bailey replied

Thank you so much!!! He is pretty unique, although I’ve seen some other baby lionheads show signs of turning out in a similar fashion! Unfortunately he won’t become a daddy – I would never be able to part with baby bunnies and we’d be overrun! ;o) Thanks btw for taking the time to visit and comment on so many of my photos! Much appreciated! :o)
